Reporting to the Operations Leadership team, the Business Analyst I supports the operations team by gathering and analyzing data, documenting business requirements, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. This entry-level role collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall performance within the New Jersey FamilyCare Managed Care Program.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to learn and perform technical tasks in a systems-driven environment
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET
  • Ability to work overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Up to 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a related role
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, workflow tools, or issue-tracking platforms
  • Experience in healthcare, government programs, or eligibility/services environments

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, IT, QA, and Training, to support business initiatives and system enhancements
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that system changes align with business requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), workflows, and process maps
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including tracking risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support timely resolution of escalations
  • Assist in analyzing current business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Develop a working knowledge of organizational operations, workflows, and applicable policies and regulations related to the NJ FamilyCare Managed Care Program
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
