About The Position

This is an hourly paid position requiring 30-40 hours per week, primarily telework with occasional visits to the office. The contract is for 1 year. The role involves manual record deduplication, identifying and resolving duplicate patient demographic and/or vaccination records when automatic matching fails. It also includes processing incoming vaccination record requests and change requests from the public. The primary objectives are to provide deduplication support and process immunization records requests. The contractor will work directly with the registry manager, supervisors, specialists, and other contracted staff of the PIERS team.

Requirements

  • Experience with PIERS Database
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant Business / Data Analyst Experience
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Use distance communication methods including conference call and webinar tools
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
  • Establish short-term and long-term objectives and specify the strategies to achieve them
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Communicate effectively in writing, orally, electronically and in-person
  • Ability to make decisions based on independent judgment and standard operating procedures

  • Must reside within a commutable distance from Harrisburg, PA / be able to report to the office location on an 'AS NEEDED' basis.

Responsibilities

  • Manually merge immunization records in PIERS possible duplicate case queues
  • Merge duplicate immunization records identified by providers reporting to PIERS
  • Separate records that are found to be comingled or incorrectly merged
  • Resolve data discrepancies in patient records
  • Identify trends in the creation of duplicate records
  • Suggest improvements to IIS matching and merging processes
  • Work with the registry manager and other IIS staff to develop, update, and maintain clearly defined standard operating procedures to support manual merging of immunization records and separation of records that have been incorrectly merged
  • Process immunization record requests
  • Process immunization record change requests
  • Provide PIERS hotline support for calls from the public regarding their immunization record requests
  • Communicate with public regarding their immunization record requests via phone and email
  • Adhere to jurisdiction policies to always maintain the security and confidentiality of PIERS data
  • Communicate and collaborate with IIS staff to resolve duplicates and comingled records
  • Consistently treat end users, stakeholders, and co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Create and maintain a work environment that is welcoming and respectful of diversity
  • Assist with other related tasks and duties as necessary
