Business Analyst Consultant
About The Position
The Business Analyst / PMO Analyst will support a major banking transformation and integration initiative involving retail banking products, customer-facing services, system integrations, and large-scale conversion efforts. The role combines business analysis and project coordination in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. The position supports business and technology teams through requirements gathering and documentation, process analysis, product and service mapping, integration and conversion coordination, UAT and operational readiness, and PMO activities such as maintaining project plans, RAID logs, status reports, and executive materials. This is a contract role based in Honolulu, Hawaii, with a hybrid workplace. The stated pay range is $40.00–$60.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Coordinator, or in a similar role.
- Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, acquisitions, mergers, conversions, or transformation programs.
- Strong requirements-gathering, process-analysis, and stakeholder-management experience.
- Experience supporting UAT planning and execution.
- Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Project.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Nice To Haves
- Banking, financial services, or fintech experience.
- Experience with retail banking products, core banking conversions, deposit operations, or digital banking initiatives.
- Experience with system integration and data migration projects.
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
- PMP, CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum Master, or related certifications.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve analysis, reporting, or project management processes.
Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements with business and technology teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions.
- Document business processes, workflows, user stories, use cases, and functional requirements.
- Analyze current- and future-state processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support product and service mapping during integration efforts.
- Identify business impacts, gaps, risks, and dependencies related to conversion activities.
- Coordinate system integration, data mapping, and process alignment activities.
- Track cross-functional dependencies across business and technology teams.
- Support conversion planning, readiness activities, and milestone tracking.
- Assist with issue resolution and implementation planning.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, and defect management.
- Coordinate test cases, validation activities, and business sign-offs.
- Monitor testing progress and escalate risks when necessary.
- Assist with operational readiness documentation, end-user training, and communications.
- Maintain project plans, RAID logs, action items, and status reporting.
- Prepare presentations, dashboards, and executive-level reporting materials.
- Facilitate project meetings and track follow-up actions.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and project health metrics.
