About The Position

Continental General is a growing insurance company with over 30 years of experience providing life and long-term care policies. We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst with experience in agile methodologies to join our team. This hybrid position involves working closely with product owners and development teams to gather and refine business requirements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will support multiple initiatives and value streams within the organization, contributing to our mission of making a difference in the lives of others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Insurance, or related focus a plus; or the equivalent years of education and experience.
  • Experience in life insurance, health insurance, or annuities is required.
  • 3+ years as a proven Business Analyst in an Agile environment, preferably within the life insurance or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and working in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Familiarity with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) for backlog management and requirement documentation.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry including policy administration concepts, the full insurance value chain from application through claims, and claims processing and payment procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities across multiple value streams and initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of AI applications and ability to leverage it to streamline day to day tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working closely with QA during testing is a plus.
  • Agile Scrum or PM certification(s) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, refining, and documenting business requirements, product specifications, and business processes.
  • Developing user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and detailed specifications.
  • Conducting research to provide context and improve workflows.
  • Updating requirements and documenting them in product management tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Analyzing market intelligence and process efficiency to optimize delivery.
  • Organizing and facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking detailed meeting minutes and tracking action items.
  • Fostering collaboration between teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
  • Communicating changes and updates to the development team and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • Working with QA teams to validate solutions, define testing scenarios, and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
  • Supporting product owners and development teams in issue resolution during the validation phase.
  • Monitoring KPIs and assessing the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Managing multiple initiatives and value streams concurrently, providing progress updates.
  • Assisting with dev-related tasks to ensure project completion.
