About The Position

The Business Advisor serves as a trusted partner to business members, providing tailored solutions to help them grow and succeed. This role focuses on acquiring, maintaining, and growing valued relationships within an assigned portfolio of Small Business members. Working collaboratively across consumer banking, commercial, wealth, and insurance, the Business Advisor delivers comprehensive support across deposit, credit, and financial services, promoting financial wellness and leveraging digital-first solutions. This role is based out of Kelowna and will provide Small Business support to the surrounding communities. Travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • 7-10 years in the financial services industry, with 5-7 years in small business or commercial portfolio management.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting, credit underwriting, and risk assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Small Business Advisory or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage relationships with an assigned portfolio of business members, delivering tailored advice and solutions.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to identify short-term and long-term business goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Promote financial wellness through effective product and service integration, including deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions.
  • Develop new business opportunities through networking, community engagement, and proactive outreach.
  • Represent Beem at business organizations and events to strengthen brand presence and generate leads.
  • Leverage CRM tools and digital channels to identify opportunities and enhance member experience.
  • Manage all aspects of the assigned business credit (lending) portfolio, including underwriting, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Perform annual credit reviews and ensure account conduct aligns with Beem’s standards.
  • Assist members with cash flow management, financial planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with internal teams across Consumer, Commercial, Wealth, and Insurance to maximize cross-referrals.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Business Specialists and other team members.
  • Participate in branch sales meetings and support business unit goals through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Represents Beem in the community to build brand presence and generate business opportunities.
  • Maintains awareness of market trends and competitive activities to inform strategy and client solutions.
