About The Position

The Bus Washer is responsible for ensuring vehicle cleanliness by meticulously cleaning vehicle exteriors and interiors. The role includes washing vehicle exteriors, sweeping and removing trash from vehicles, driving and parking vehicles, and properly using and maintaining employer-provided wash equipment and a safe work area. The employee must be able to work without direct supervision and have flexible scheduling availability. The position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Physical demands may include extended periods of walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials, repetitive hand-wrist motions, and traversing uneven surfaces. Employees may be exposed to extreme heat and cold, loud noises, fumes, and airborne particles. A 50-pound unassisted lifting ability is required. Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination, as well as completing a background check.

Requirements

Must be over 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Valid state driver's license, at least one year of driving experience, and a good driving record.
Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement within 90 days of hire.
Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions.
Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and other provided safety training materials.
Ability to learn shop processes, including fueling and cleaning vehicles.
Ability to mix and use a variety of cleaning products.
Ability to use buffers, scrubbing machines, and other heavy cleaning equipment.
Strong attention to detail.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination and complete a background check.

Nice To Haves

One year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean the exteriors and interiors of buses.
Wash vehicle exteriors using a power washer and brushes; sweep and remove trash from vehicles.
Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles.
Follow instructions and apply attention to detail while working with minimal supervision.
Use employer-provided wash equipment properly and maintain a safe work area.
Ensure that all vehicles have been properly cleaned.
Use handheld wash tools and pressure washers.
Perform other duties as required.
