About The Position
Charleston R-I School District is seeking qualified applicants for School Bus Monitors. This role involves supervising students during transportation, assisting the bus driver, and ensuring a safe environment for all riders, especially those with special needs and Pre-K students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or the Equivalent
- Supervisory Duties: Bus monitors supervise students while they are being transported
Responsibilities
- Supervise students over specified routes according to an established time schedule
- Assist the bus driver in maintaining an accurate record of bus ridership
- Assist students entering and exiting the bus, when needed
- Provide support for special needs riders and Pre-K riders
- Enforce the student discipline code
- Assist in performing bus inspections
- Participate in required training
