About The Position

This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The Bus Monitor/Custodian will assist the Bus Driver in maintaining discipline on the bus, monitor children while the bus is in operation, and assist with documentation and record keeping. This role also involves grounds maintenance, cleaning, and minor maintenance on center facilities, grounds, and buses. Additionally, the position requires assisting with furniture and equipment movement, setting up/cleaning up after special events, and performing snow removal duties. Communication with various staff and parents regarding child behavior and medical issues is essential, as is maintaining knowledge of emergency procedures and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass physical examination and required background checks, including state day care clearance
  • Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
  • Must obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Infant/Toddler and Preschool Child Development Associate credential (CDA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Bus Driver in maintaining discipline on the bus.
  • Assist and monitor children while bus is in operation.
  • Assist Bus Driver in documentation of children’s information, and record keeping.
  • Assist parents and center personnel with safe loading and unloading of children.
  • Coordinate seating of children as required by State Transportation guidelines.
  • Maintain grounds: pick up litter and trash, mow grass, weed planting areas, and irrigate.
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment and use supplies.
  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on center facilities, grounds and playground equipment.
  • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on busses.
  • Assist in moving and setting up furniture and equipment.
  • Set up/clean up after special events.
  • Perform snow removal duties.
  • Communicate with Teacher Aides, Teachers, and parents concerning child behavior and medical problems.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries, requests, or complaints.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records.
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practice.
