About The Position

TRI-CAP is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, caring, and dependable full-time Bus Driver for its transit services in Waite Park. The driver operates an assigned route safely and on schedule, provides excellent customer service, assists passengers with mobility aids, and ensures passengers and equipment are secured. The role also includes vehicle inspections, fare monitoring, paperwork, and daily cleaning and maintenance. TRI-CAP will pay for training to obtain a CDL. The starting hourly wage is $24.50–$26.50. The position is open until filled.

Requirements

CDL with a passenger endorsement, MNDOT medical exam card, or ability to obtain them.
Pass a DMV violations check and criminal background check.
Ability to comply with FTA drug and alcohol testing regulations, including pre-employment screening and random testing.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Proficiency with computers and navigation technology.
Must be available for scheduling Monday through Saturday.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a bus on an assigned route, staying on schedule and providing excellent service to customers.
Assist passengers as needed with wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids; ensure passengers are secured and mobility aids are stowed securely.
Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections and report defects to the Lead Driver.
Monitor fare collection from passengers.
Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns.
Perform daily cleaning and bus maintenance.
