About The Position

The Bus Driver works in the Transportation Department for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The position is 0.75 FTE and is scheduled for 10 months per year, 212 days per year, from August 7 through June 21. The role is permanent and part-time. The hourly salary range is $23.18 to $29.13, according to the Transportation Salary Schedule. The position is available as soon as possible. Selected candidates are subject to drug and alcohol testing and may be required to pass a district-sponsored physical examination, including a back evaluation, conducted by a district-authorized physician before employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience driving school buses under a wide variety of driving, weather, and road conditions.
A work history demonstrating dependability and reliability.
Good driving record.
Must qualify for district insurance coverage.
May be required to pass a district-sponsored physical examination, including a back evaluation, conducted by a district-authorized physician before employment.
Individuals selected for the position are subject to drug and alcohol testing.
Submit a valid California Class A or B driver's license with the application.
Submit a valid medical certificate and medical card with the application.
Submit a current H-6 DMV print-out covering the last 10 years with the application.
Submit a copy of the School Bus Driver Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol with the application.
