About The Position

RTS Genesee is seeking a full-time Bus Driver to join their team. This position is in a Union environment and offers no nights or weekends. RTS is a regional transit authority serving multiple counties in New York State, committed to providing vital, safe, and sustainable transportation services. The role connects people to essential services like jobs, schools, and healthcare.

Requirements

Valid NY State Commercial Driver's License (Class A, B, or C) with passenger endorsement and no seating restrictions preferred.
Must have Class "B" permit with passenger endorsement prior to start date.
Clean driving record.
At least 5 years of regular Class D driving experience required.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Will be required to pass a post-offer 19A physical.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while interacting with a diverse population of passengers, including in situations that may involve conflict, stressful conditions, or challenging customer interactions.

Responsibilities

Operates a bus or other revenue service vehicle to safely transport customers along designated routes and according to established schedules.
Picks up customers in response to scheduled service, radio, or telephone requests.
Assists customers with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed.
Completes required trip logs.
Reports vehicle malfunctions.
Conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections before departure.
