About The Position

Shirley Contracting is hiring a full-time, year-round Bulldozer Operator for various jobsites in Southern Virginia. The role involves operating heavy equipment and performing equipment maintenance and cleaning, along with manual labor tasks that support project work. Operators work outdoors in all seasons and are expected to follow the company’s health and safety requirements and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers. Work start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. The hourly pay range is $22.00–$35.00; compensation may vary based on factors including education, experience, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

Experience operating heavy equipment; an onsite try-out will be conducted.
Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons.
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

GPS/UTS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and motor graders.
Perform general equipment maintenance, including greasing, checking fluid levels, and cleaning tracks.
Clean equipment daily.
Report equipment deficiencies to the foreman immediately.
Perform manual labor tasks related to supporting projects.
Meet the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.
