About The Position

This role offers an opportunity to work under the mentorship of a Senior Designer or Architect, with licensure anticipated as a short-term objective. The Buildings Designer will be responsible for supporting project teams in developing designs through various visual formats, creating two- and three-dimensional models, preparing documentation, coordinating building systems, and assisting with contract administration. The position also involves implementing sustainable design principles, conducting site analysis, and researching design concepts. Collaboration with clients, project teams, and contractors is essential, as is effective communication and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Requirements

Able to support multiple Project Managers and Project Architects across various projects simultaneously.
Possesses a general understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, methods, materials, and industry standards.
Comfortable working independently and taking direction, while proactively taking appropriate actions without constant supervision.
Manages multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
A collaborative team player with clients, project teams, and contractors.
Strong communicator.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, InDesign, and Photoshop.
Proficient in AutoCAD is required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
2-3 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

Licensure is not mandatory, but it is anticipated to be among your short-term objectives.
Prior experience with K-12 education projects is preferred.
Experience with Lumion, SketchUp, and Newforma is preferred.
LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Keep the Project Manager or Project Architect updated on progress, expectations, deadlines, and deliverables within your responsibilities.
Participate in team meetings, charrettes, and coordination sessions.
Assist in monitoring and coordinating internal team and external consultant work and deadlines.
Support project teams in developing designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
Develop design concepts, renderings, and presentation drawings.
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create two- and three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Prepare and revise documentation across various architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure they align with the design intent.
Assist with contract administration tasks.
Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
Implement sustainable design principles into building designs and the surrounding environment.
Conduct site analysis and research concepts, benchmarks, typologies, and precedents.
