About The Position
Portsmouth School Department is seeking to hire a regular building substitute teacher at Portsmouth Middle School beginning immediately through the end of the 2026-2027 school year only. This position is primarily located at Portsmouth Middle School; however, flexibility to be reassigned to Portsmouth High School, Hathaway or Melville Elementary, based on need, is required. RIDE Certification is not required for this position.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher, hold an associates’ degree, or have completed a minimum of two years college as part of a four-year degree track in any field
- Must complete a federal criminal background check
- Must provide three letters of reference
- Must attend a mandatory substitute meeting
