Intermediate School Building-Based Substitute Teacher
About The Position
The Environmental Charter School has an immediate need for a full-time Building-Based Substitute Teacher for its Intermediate School (grades 3-5). The ideal candidate will be progressive-minded, possess a can-do spirit and work ethic, and have relevant teaching experience. A demonstrated track record of success in developing and implementing strategies to meet the needs of students with varied learning needs, and a “whatever it takes” attitude are essential. The school's philosophy centers on equipping students with skills for a complex world, fostering flexible thinking, creative problem-solving, and effective leadership. ECS uses environmental content as a lens for instruction, encouraging inquiry and problem-solving. The faculty and staff are passionate and dedicated to student success, working in a student-centered, collaborative, and reflective environment that challenges faculty to take risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- PA teacher certification
- Familiarity with intermediate grade levels (3-5)
- Current clearances within one year of start date (Arrest & Conviction disclosure, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Clearance (Act 34), and FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 114)).
- Commonwealth of PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) and Mandated Reporter Training.
