About The Position

The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is in need of a Building Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year at Hale High School. Applicants must be certified teachers with a current DPI license or hold a Substitute Permit through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The rate of pay is: $205.70 per full day assignment. Free access to the WAWM School District Workplace Clinic.

Responsibilities

Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures the integrity of academic time and motivates students to learn and participate.
Instructs students regarding a variety of classroom topics and courses of instructions.
Follow Lesson plans as required by school and WAWM district policy.
Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance w.ith lesson plans
Address the various learning styles of students accordingly.
Model correct use of spoken and written English language.
Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with WAWM policy, state , and all applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property.
Remain in classroom and monitor students at all times.
Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to school principal or school personnel immediately.
May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard).
