About The Position
This is a day shift position responsible for maintaining the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition. The role involves operating cleaning equipment, disposing of waste, handling cleaning chemicals, and performing various cleaning tasks throughout patient and staff areas. The position also requires reporting needed repairs and completing assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of custodial methods and procedures preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
- Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings
- Disposes of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
- Handles various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.
- Dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.
- Empties trash containers daily.
- Wet mops floors in all patient and staff rooms daily. Damp mop all corridor floors, lobby, and others daily
- Cleans wash basins, mirrors, and commodes daily.
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to manager.
- Washes windows as scheduled.
- Strips and recoats all floor areas when necessary and as scheduled.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
