About The Position

Quad in Lomira is hiring a Building Services Technician to perform skilled mechanical maintenance involving the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of plumbing, piping, and building and print-production support equipment. The role includes maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers, icemakers, air dryers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, electric motors, belt drives, and mechanical couplings. The technician works with building control systems, chillers and chilled-water systems, chemical treatment, and water softeners, as well as a range of building and dock equipment and plumbing systems. The position contributes to an accident-free work environment by complying with company rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a maintenance program at a vocational or technical school, or a recognized apprenticeship program in general mechanical maintenance.
• Mechanical or industrial maintenance experience.
• Basic welding, soldering, and metal fabrication skills.
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, mechanical drawings, and sketches.
• Good oral, reading, and writing skills for effective communication.
• Must furnish a basic set of mechanic hand tools.
• Knowledge of proper and safe operation and maintenance of power tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, modify, service, and repair plumbing, piping, and building and print-production support equipment.
• Repair and maintain HVAC systems and refrigeration systems for walk-in coolers.
• Maintain icemakers, air dryers for air compressors, air compressors, vacuum pumps, electric motors, belt drives, and mechanical couplings.
• Work with building control systems, chillers and chilled-water systems, chemical treatment, and water softeners.
• Work with overhead doors, fire doors, dock equipment, and rail dock equipment.
• Maintain toilets and urinals, perform drain cleaning, trace the origin of roof leaks, and make temporary repairs.
• Comply with company rules and regulations to contribute to an accident-free work environment.
• Operate and maintain power tools safely and keep them in safe working order.
