About The Position

Reporting to the Building Services & Logistics Supervisor, the Building Service Team Member is responsible for maintaining the physical appearance of the Museum. This position contributes to the facility operations including janitorial and event services carefully following proper cleaning protocols including wearing any required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
2 years prior experience in janitorial, landscaping or building maintenance required.
Ability to work independently, completing assigned tasks.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment, flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs of the museum.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, able to deal with visitors well, act reasonably in emergencies, perform tasks as instructed, and cooperate well with co-workers.
Reliable transportation is a must.
Able to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain clear communication with supervisor and teammates.
Maintains a neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
Must be physically able to drive and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Performs janitorial tasks as scheduled, including, but not limited to: Cleaning of restrooms and work areas, Mopping floors, Vacuuming carpets, Dusting, Collecting trash, Washing walls and windows, Picking up trash on Museum's outside property, Sweeping or hosing down sidewalks, Cleaning, empty trash cans outdoor including, garden, terrace areas and parking lots.
Setting up and breaking down special events including tables and chairs.
Cleaning up during and after special events.
Able to log into Outlook and check email, ability to log into computer to complete required training courses.
