About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles. It also involves routine grounds keeping work to ensure the beautification of the landscape and performing minor plumbing and carpentry repair work. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles, performing routine maintenance activities, and driving Salvation Army vehicles to pick up materials, supplies, donations, mail, and the like.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting of supplies, materials, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
  • Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. AND two years’ experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Must pass a level 2 background screening.
