About The Position

This vacancy is with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Institutions Division. This continuous recruitment may be closed at any time. The role involves supervising and participating in the repair and maintenance of buildings. In addition to performing skilled building maintenance repair work, the position plans, lays out, schedules and assigns the work of building maintenance workers from work orders received by supervisors or project managers. The role also includes instructing subordinates and demonstrating proper work methods, working alongside subordinates to set the pace and quality of work, checking and inspecting buildings, structures, equipment and facilities for needed repairs, estimating material and labor costs, requisitioning materials, inspecting work in progress and upon completion for proper quality of work, making oral and written reports of work completed by the crew, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • SIX (6) YEARS of work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work
  • TWO (2) YEARS of work experience as a fully competent worker (journeyworker level)
  • Possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Must not have engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility or other institution.
  • Must not have been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
  • Must not have been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
  • Must not have been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
