Building Maintenance Technician

About The Position

The Building Maintenance Technician performs daily cleaning, inspection, and upkeep of facility interior and exterior areas, plant equipment, and support systems. The role includes maintaining restrooms and breakrooms, checking and servicing coolant and recycling systems, inspecting safety and electrical areas, monitoring compressors and plant air systems, and cleaning floors with a Zamboni and by hand where needed. The technician also performs outdoor grounds checks and must be punctual and available to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

Check restrooms daily, replenish supplies, empty trash, and sweep and clean floors.
Check breakrooms daily, clean tables and countertops, clear clutter, empty trash, and sweep and clean floors.
Check coolant and recycle as needed; maintain, repair, and clean the recycling system; ensure coolant systems are stored properly and presses have the correct amount of coolant.
Inspect fire suppression equipment and electrical rooms for alarms, check for facility and pump-house leaks, and ensure risers are locked properly.
Check compressors, record plant air pressure and dryer readings, inspect the compressor room for leaks, and keep its floors clean.
Clean plant floors daily using the Zamboni floor cleaner and manually clean areas the machine cannot reach.
Inspect the outdoor facility area daily, empty trash bins, and pick up litter on facility grounds.
Attend work during the regularly scheduled shift, arrive on time and ready to work, and work overtime as required.
Follow safety policies and procedures; participate in safety training and meetings, maintain a safe work area, report injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
Monitor work quality, meet productivity standards, accept feedback, take responsibility, show initiative, and interact professionally with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
