About The Position

SBM Commercial Real Estate is hiring a Building Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance, repairs, and build-out projects across commercial properties in Waukesha and Racine Counties, Wisconsin. The role combines routine tasks with varied projects, using an organized work order system and offering opportunities to work independently while supporting tenants and property users. Starting pay is $27–$30 per hour, based on experience, with eligibility for build-out bonuses and performance-based pay increases at 90 days, six months, and 12 months.

The technician travels between properties, completes maintenance and repairs, supports property improvement projects, tracks assignments and completed work through the work order system, and communicates professionally with tenants and team members. Applicants should have building maintenance, facilities repair, construction, or related trade experience; use tools and equipment safely; and be able to organize work, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Requirements

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities repair, construction, or a related trade.
• Confidence using maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and follow through with attention to detail.
• Helpful, service-oriented approach and comfort working independently.
• Clean driving record and ability to travel between properties.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of building maintenance, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Complete the required Culture Index Survey before submitting an application.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across multiple commercial properties.
• Complete routine maintenance tasks and address issues identified through work orders.
• Support build-outs and property improvement projects as assigned.
• Use the work order system to track assignments, document progress, and record completed work.
