About The Position

Black Equipment is seeking a dependable, hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily upkeep and maintenance of its facility and surrounding grounds. The role helps ensure the building remains safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained through routine inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and groundskeeping.

The technician performs general building maintenance and repairs, identifies facility maintenance needs, addresses minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical issues, and maintains building systems, equipment, fixtures, and common areas. The role also includes facility improvement projects, seasonal grounds maintenance, maintaining organized work areas, responding to maintenance requests, following company safety procedures, and loading and unloading semi-trailers.

Requirements

• Previous building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license required.
• No moving violations or major driving infractions within the past five years.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Repair minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
• Maintain building systems, equipment, fixtures, and common areas.
• Assist with painting, patching, and other facility improvement projects.
• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including trimming, landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Load and unload semi-trailers.
