About The Position

The Maintenance/Building Supervisor is responsible for the total maintenance of the building in accordance with regulatory standards. This role ensures the general cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, as well as the safety and well-being of the residents and the facility structure and its contents. The supervisor is responsible for meeting and maintaining regulatory and company safety standards, keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition by examining it regularly for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness. The position involves performing or arranging for general building and fixture repairs, reporting any unusual conditions or malfunctions of heating, plumbing, and electrical systems, and managing key maintenance and other security systems. The role also includes making estimates of labor and/or materials for repair or new construction, assisting in planning repair/renovation projects, and overseeing and coordinating work with outside contractors. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for the ordering and inventory control of maintenance/kitchen supplies, garbage and refuse disposal, snow removal, and the maintenance of landscaping and upkeep of grounds equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 10 years’ construction and repair experience.
  • Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, plaster, painting, door hardware, and general maintenance.
  • 7+ years' experience with supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff.
  • Previous maintenance experience in a residential treatment facility preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build a strong team, including performing skill assessments and developing training plans for staff.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of the principles, methods and processes needed to perform the job. Attends staff meetings, seminars and in-service training as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete work in an acceptable manner by the time and/or date established with accuracy, neatness and thoroughness and minimal amount of errors.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures including maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines at all times.
