About The Position

Keep our Phoenix Complex running safely, efficiently, and smoothly. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance individual to oversee repairs, construction, and day-to-day upkeep at Complex - Phoenix. You’ll help maintain essential systems and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and utilities. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform assigned preventive maintenance and ensure work meets applicable national and local building codes, as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Requirements

  • Knowledge of structural issues regarding building and utility service systems, including blueprints, safety practices, and codes
  • Knowledge of trades, e.g., electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Knowledge of budgeting to include estimating costs and ordering materials
  • Knowledge of common and specialized tools for performing duties
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and national and local building codes/regulations
  • Skill in basic reading of blueprints and schematics
  • Skill in general construction
  • Skill in mechanical devices
  • Skill in electrical
  • Skill in preventative maintenance
  • Skill in using and demonstration of common and specialized tools

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and plan maintenance-related projects including pricing, material list, equipment and needs
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks as required and scheduled
  • Completes related documentation as required by policy and as directed by supervisor
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment to include computers, internet research, and completion of documents
  • Conducts inspections and maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper working order and all are accounted for
  • Supervises and evaluates inmate worker’s performance
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
  • Drives on State business
