About The Position

Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Specialist – Electrical. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Facilities Trade.

Requirements

• Journeyman’s electrical license (or ability to obtain one within 6 months).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to operate required equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift 50lbs regularly.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Deal tactfully and work effectively with others.
• Must be comfortable working from heights or lifts.
• Must be comfortable working in confined spaces.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Repairing or replacing electrical fixtures.
• Replacing fuses, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and ballast.
• Replacing belts, motors, and bearings on appliances and equipment.
• Oversee warranty issues from general construction projects.
• Running conduit and pulling wire.
• Installing new devices included but not limited to panel boards, breakers, conduit, boxes, switches, receptacles, wire, lights, fans.
• Assisting other trades on repair and construction projects.
• Installing or repairing underground wiring.
• Maintenance and testing on emergency lights, exhaust fans, etc.
