About The Position

Responsible for the overall property and equipment management of the Atlanta Distribution Center. Coordinates facilities, building, and equipment maintenance needs by working with managers, contractors, vendors, and service partners in an effort to maintain quality in a cost effective fashion. Initiates planning and building programs that support preventive and predictive maintenance. Plans and executes projects as appropriate to support building operations. Manage and directs maintenance and custodial workforce to support the goals and initiatives of the Distribution Center and the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an accredited College/University with three to 3 - 5 years of related experience in Maintenance, Leadership, and people development.
  • 6 - 10 years of Maintenance experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Some knowledge of warehouse software as well as basic Windows functions, i.e. SAP, Microsoft M365 Suite, Adobe, CMMS
  • Forklift certification and other warehouse certifications as needed.

  • Train-the-trainer certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the building and its' components by applying preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to maximize the useful life of the facility
  • Assure maximum performance of conveyor systems with use of internal maintenance aimed at monthly, quarterly, and annual programs
  • Maximize the use of Regional and National McLane contracts with suppliers and service providers to leverage cost savings for the company
  • Ensures facility and building are in compliance with all government regulations
  • Maintains Material Handling Equipment (MHE) through use of maintenance programs
  • Coordinates and performs painting, building repairs, and basic woodworking, to the furnishings and warehouse
  • Ensure that the site is maintained in a fashion that provides for a clean and safe environment and that both the interior/exterior of the facility provides a positive and pleasing appearance
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement savings initiatives, service enhancements and process improvements
  • Performs and directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet and Safety Manager to assure compliance of Federal, State and local laws and ordinances related to the operation of the facilities
  • Takes part in employee recognition programs in order to enhance morale, recognition, and employee engagement
  • Maintains recurrent role in monthly safety program in order to increase safety awareness and adherence within Distribution Center
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Coordinates all monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of the facilities including but not limited to the conveyor, alarm systems, and fire alarm
  • Confers with other members of management to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Coordinates activities of outside contractors used for maintenance and repair of building and surroundings
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies needed and utilized within the Distribution Center
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards
  • Create, update, and complete workorders using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Maintain conveyor parts inventory
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Atlanta
