Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment such as pallet jacks, highlifts, and forklifts. This role ensures that day and night warehouse operations remain functional, facilitating the efficient shipping and receiving of products. The position involves performing necessary repairs and maintenance on material handling equipment, reviewing equipment reports from associates, maintaining repair logs, and performing preventative maintenance (PMs) with proper documentation. Compliance with all safety guidelines, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, is essential. The role also includes maintaining the battery-charging area, batteries, and related equipment, requiring experience with 120v circuits and 480v 3-phase motor controls, as well as the ability to use a multimeter for testing circuits. Basic plumbing, drywall, and painting skills are also necessary. The mechanic is responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory, safe operation, storage, and security. They may also be authorized to purchase necessary tools and equipment from local vendors. Light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, painting, storage rack repairs, light plumbing, equipment repairs, and basic drywall and concrete repairs are also assigned.
