Building Maintenance Assistant – JLL What this job involves: As a Building Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through skilled equipment operation and inventory management. This position combines technical expertise with hands-on work, requiring you to safely operate heavy machinery while maintaining organized inventory systems. Your work will directly support JLL's commitment to operational excellence and workplace safety, ensuring our facilities run efficiently and materials are properly managed. If you're detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and skilled in operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a professional facilities team.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator license or certification (required)
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working with forklifts, heavy machinery, or related equipment
- Ability to pass drug testing and background check
- Physical capability to stand, sit, walk, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the shift
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and workplace regulations
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in warehouse or facilities management environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and record-keeping practices
- Basic maintenance skills for routine equipment troubleshooting
- Experience working in commercial real estate or corporate facilities
- Ability to adapt to various facility layouts and operational conditions
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets, inventory, and materials across facilities while maintaining awareness of surroundings
- Perform daily equipment checks, maintenance, cleaning, and fueling to ensure forklifts are properly stored and ready for operation
- Load, unload, and transport inventory from trucks and delivery areas to designated storage locations and workstations
- Stack, sort, and organize pallets in trailers and throughout facilities according to inventory management protocols
- Maintain accurate inventory records, activity logs, and task documentation, submitting daily reports at shift completion
- Conduct routine inspections to identify damaged parts or equipment requiring replacement and submit maintenance requests
- Follow all health and safety procedures, regulations, and organizational protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
