About The Position

This posting describes three levels—Building Inspector I, Building Inspector II (residential inspections), and Building Inspector III (commercial and residential inspections). These positions work under the general supervision of the Building Official and are non-exempt; Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions apply. Per Florida Statute 295.065, eligible servicemembers, veterans, and their spouses and family members receive preference and priority in employment by the state and its political subdivisions. Certain servicemembers may be eligible for waivers of postsecondary educational requirements, and are encouraged to apply.
