About The Position

The Building & Grounds Supervisor performs hands-on repair and maintenance in building trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related structural systems. The role trains and supervises inmates assigned to work, ensuring they work safely and efficiently. It also maintains required documentation, including work orders, purchase orders, and maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Progressively responsible work experience in one or more trade specialties.
• Prior experience organizing and completing work assignments with minimal guidance.
• Demonstrated skill using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Skill using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work assignments.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of skilled repair and maintenance tasks in trades and utilities areas.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and work from heights.
• Ability to assign, inspect, and lead the work of others.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and follow building code practices and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of institutional operations and security procedures, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Working knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance practices, equipment, and materials used in skilled trades, which may include carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, grounds keeping, or other trade areas.
