Building Engineer Intern
About The Position
The Michaels Organization is seeking a Building Engineer Intern to apply engineering coursework through a real-world internship supporting the Hospitality department. The intern will work on real projects and take on real responsibilities, learning about the real estate business and industry while developing transferable workplace skills. The internship offers exposure to experienced team members and leaders in the high-rise building field, company-wide and departmental meetings and events, and social, professional, and networking opportunities. The intern will gain hands-on experience with building systems and components, including HVAC, Lutron shades and lighting, and the CCure system. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for 35 hours per week. The position is based at the company's headquarters in Camden, New Jersey, five days per week. The stated salary range is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour; individual pay depends on work location and factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the second or third year of a relevant undergraduate program.
- Previous success reviewing blueprints and analyzing data.
Nice To Haves
- Architectural Engineering field of study is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing and maintaining all building systems.
- Assist with creating a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Assist with responding to service calls in all areas of the building.
