Building Engineer Intern
About The Position
The Michaels Organization is seeking a Building Engineer Intern to apply engineering coursework in a real-world setting. The intern will assist the Hospitality department with a range of responsibilities and work on real projects with meaningful responsibilities. The internship is intended for proactive, self-motivated students who want to learn about the real estate business and industry. The program offers opportunities to build transferable workplace skills and learn from experienced team members and leaders in the high-rise building field. Interns may also participate in company-wide and departmental meetings and events, as well as social, professional, and networking opportunities. The role provides hands-on experience with building systems, including HVAC, Lutron shades and lighting, and the CCure system. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for 35 hours per week. The position is based at the company's Camden, New Jersey headquarters, five days per week. The salary range is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour; individual pay depends on work location and job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the second or third year of a relevant undergraduate program.
- Previous success reviewing blueprints and analyzing data.
Nice To Haves
- Architectural Engineering field of study preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing and maintaining all building systems.
- Assist with creating a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Assist with responding to service calls in all areas of the building.
