About The Position

The Colorado Convention Center is seeking a Building Engineer – Event Foreman to coordinate event service needs of clients, maintenance projects with shift Engineers, and provide technical and physical support for shift Engineers. This role involves spot-checking preventative maintenance (PMs) to ensure adherence to industry standards, performing building operator duties as needed, and maintaining shop supplies and cleanliness. The position is hourly, non-exempt, and falls under the City of Denver Prevailing Wage Law with a base rate of $35.04/hr.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Two to four years’ experience in a facility engineer position
  • Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills among all levels of staff and clientele, required
  • Ability to speak, understand, and read standard English, required.
  • Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team, required
  • Perform leadership role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities, required
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills, required
  • Provide customer service in a professional considerate manner, required
  • Excellent record of dependability and reliability, required
  • Customer Service experience, required
  • Basic computer skills including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets, required

  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Boiler Operator or Refrigeration Operator Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and repair of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment and apparatus, and facility finishes in the facilities.
  • Support the condition of HVAC and mechanical infrastructure in accordance with safety/code requirements.
  • Support the HVAC and energy management computer systems of the facilities.
  • Provide client utility services including compressed air, water, and drains.
  • Perform spot check regularly on PMs to ensure bldg. equipment is being serviced correctly.
  • Assist in resolving normal technical field problems.
  • Report inventory of all engineering equipment and supplies.
  • Make recommendations to Chief Building Engineer regarding equipment and materials needed and implement approved purchases.
  • Oversee and assist with safety in the workplace.
  • Complete and assist in reviewing JHA/JSA for all departmental tasks.
  • Fill in as an Engineer during scheduled PTO.
  • Lead in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform and audit normal maintenance shift PMs on equipment identifying deficiencies and coming up with updated processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
