About The Position

Mantis Innovation is hiring a Building Controls Technician II/III to build PLC/Ignition capability in the Umatilla, Oregon area and support data center projects and ongoing service needs. The technician works independently in the field, performing commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting without relying on outside support. The role helps keep projects on schedule and meeting quality standards while establishing a consistent local presence that reduces travel dependency and supports long-term regional work. Within the first 90 days, the technician is expected to independently execute PLC/Ignition work on Umatilla projects. Other stated outcomes include achieving a 95% or higher first-time pass rate on commissioning and startup, delivering assigned scope on or ahead of schedule without technical-execution delays, reducing reliance on fly-in support by 50% or more within six months, maintaining 90% or higher uptime compliance on systems under their responsibility during startup and early operation, and completing required documentation accurately and on time. The role also calls for ownership, reliability, and collaboration in a field-based team environment. The work is field-based across active construction sites and operational data center environments. Travel is required within the Pacific Northwest, and extended or non-standard hours may be needed depending on project demands. Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing ladders, working in mechanical spaces, and lifting tools and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. The stated annual total cash pay range is $130,000–$160,000. Total cash combines base salary, which depends on experience and technician level, with potential additional compensation through internal programs, including annual bonus, living expenses, and profit sharing. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, 401(k) matching, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid parental leave, paid short- and long-term disability, and tuition reimbursement.
