Building Controls Programmer
About The Position
Environmental Systems Co. (ESC), a Fidelity Company, is a building-integrated systems contractor that helps building owners and facility managers improve building performance by integrating intelligent solutions for comfort, security, life safety, energy efficiency, and audio/visual technology. The Building Controls Programmer installs, troubleshoots, services, and programs building automation systems, supporting projects from design requirements through integration, testing, and ongoing technical support. The role requires a strong background in HVAC and hydronic systems and the ability to independently program and customize control sequences. The position may involve travel to project sites as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and a strong background in HVAC and hydronic systems, including hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in programming languages or platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls.
- Ability to independently program and customize control sequences for HVAC and other building systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and program building automation systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project specifications and design requirements.
- Perform system integration and testing to ensure functionality and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control programming and electrical systems.
- Provide technical support and training to project teams and clients as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programming codes, configurations, and system changes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
