About The Position

Performs clerical, classroom assistance, and related building duties in support of the principal/administrator. May perform health room duties. Requirements

  • First Aid/CPR - American Heart Asc. / Red Cross / Etc.
  • High school graduate -high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and to learn functionality of new equipment and systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to create, access, input, retrieve, and manipulate information in various software systems
  • Ability to establish and maintain accurate record keeping, document management, and filing systems

Responsibilities

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Answers telephone, takes messages, and/or forwards phone calls as appropriate; greets visitors to building
  • Assists with maintaining office filing systems
  • Develops and implements work room procedures and methods to ensure the efficiency of office operations
  • Keeps lost and found items and arranges for disbursement
  • Keeps records of students using the health clinic and directs the student for proper care
  • Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception/work room area
  • Maintains inventory of office/medical supplies; orders and requests materials and supplies as necessary
  • Makes announcements and pages on the intercom system
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail, and/or prepares outgoing mail as required
  • Performs a variety of duties using various types of office equipment
  • Performs routine typing activities related to departmental functions
  • Processes purchase orders and requisitions as required, tracks orders as received, and maintain records of purchases
  • Provides back up assistance to other office/instructional staff
  • Provides personal assistance to students, including dispensing medication, and tending to all students
  • Records information of all school accidents and files or forwards accordingly
  • Schedules field trips
  • Sets up, files, and sorts a variety of documents, to include sensitive and confidential information
  • Types routine correspondence and reports and updates lists
