About The Position

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join us as the Building Cleanliness Technician Team Lead - a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our YMCA facilities. In this key position, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Building Cleanliness Technicians (BCTs) under the guidance of the Facilities Director. Your role transcends routine janitorial duties, encompassing a range of responsibilities that contribute to the overall well-being of our facilities. Full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies is paramount, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our spaces are not only clean but also safe for all members of our community.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a team of Building Cleanliness Technicians (BCTs)
  • Ensuring full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies
  • Guiding the BCT team in the proper use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Completing assigned projects and ensuring satisfaction of the Facilities Director
  • Maintaining accurate documentation
  • Creating and maintaining cleaning schedules
  • Conducting regular facility walks to identify areas requiring attention
  • Delegating tasks to the BCT team
  • Reporting any building maintenance needs promptly to the Facilities Director
  • Training new BCT staff using a hands-on approach
  • Fostering positive relationships with volunteers, members, and staff
  • Engaging in weekly meetings with the Facilities Director to discuss challenges, successes, and overall progress
