About The Position

Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Building Automation Applications Engineer role for our Building Automation team located in Champlin, MN. The Building Automation Engineer is an integral part of the Building Automation group and is primarily responsible for designing, installing, and servicing temperature control and building automation systems for the commercial HVAC market. This is a flexible, hybrid position allowing you to work a blend of in the office and at home.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) technical degree or proven equivalent design and programming experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.
  • Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment with the ability to work with a variety of customers to design and program a wide variety of industrial control systems.
  • Detailed and task-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Able to work independently and with a high degree of initiative while producing quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Working knowledge of IT concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one to three (1-3) years of programming and Graphical User Interface (GUI) experience with hardware that supports the LonWorks, BACnet, and Modbus open building automation protocols is preferred.
  • At least one to three (1-3) years of experience with Niagara AX and N4 platforms is preferred.
  • At least one to three (1-3) years of experience with HVAC and electrical systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering work of temperature control/automation systems for both Plan/Spec and Design/Build projects.
  • Work closely with Sales/Account Managers to deliver engineered systems in line with their expectations.
  • Create project submittts/installation documentation.
  • Work with Project Managers and installation teams to deliver systems as designed.
  • Provide installation technical support to project electricians.
  • Provide technical support to both project and service technicians.
  • Program control hardware to deliver specified sequences of operations.
  • Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for end-users.
  • Work with Commissioning Authorities to test installed systems.
  • Work with customers� IT departments to establish network architectures and remote connectivity into systems.
  • Create operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals at project completion.
  • Provide owner training on installed systems.
