About The Position

The Building Attendant I performs routine manual cleaning, sanitizing, housekeeping, and custodial work in buildings, and helps maintain facilities during events. The role includes janitorial duties and occasional physical labor.

This is a full-time position with benefits. The hourly rate of pay is $15.

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper building custodial procedures.
• Ability to complete routine tasks dependably and reliably with minimum supervision.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Flexibility in work hours; some nights and weekends are required.
• Minimum of 6 months of custodial work experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and scrub tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, offices, galleries, and building lobbies as scheduled.
• Clean and maintain restrooms daily and during and after events.
• Empty trash receptacles throughout museum buildings daily and during and after events.
• Clean, dust, and polish furniture and equipment.
• Set up tables, chairs, ice, beverages, and other items for events.
• Wash windows and move furniture as scheduled.
• Polish brass work.
• Clean work areas, tools, and equipment upon task completion and at the end of the shift.
• Ensure materials and supplies are safely and properly stored when returned.
• Perform other duties as required.
