About The Position
The George Washington Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on historic preservation, is searching for an energetic individual with entry-level experience in the trades to assist with the mowing, repair, maintenance, security, and improvement of properties and structures within Ferry Farm and Historic Kenmore. This is a full-time position.
Requirements
- Must have a basic knowledge of tools and equipment, i.e. mowers, power tools, excavators, and misc. hand tools.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Offer conditioned on passing DSS background checks.
Responsibilities
- Lawn cutting, weed whacking, and other landscape maintenance (approx. 65% of the job).
- General carpentry, plumbing, painting, and other tasks to maintain the properties and structures (approx. 30% of the job).
- Work across departments to provide support for event setup, emergency response efforts, and all other service requests within the Buildings and Grounds scope of work (5%).
