About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking an entry-level Builder to join our Building and Construction team in York, PA. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in our Structural Systems Testing department. The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret technical standards and specifications
Knowledge of equipment and tools used in building construction
Proficiency in interpreting construction plans and installation instructions
Ability to follow direction and work independently and in a team environment
Ability to lift, push and/or pull (infrequently) up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend down, climb ladders, reach over-head and work at heights up to 60 feet
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
Ability to pass pre-employment check

Nice To Haves

Welding experience preferred but not required
Commercial construction experience desired

Responsibilities

Construction and demolition of mock-up test assemblies
Small, intermediate, and large-scale specimen preparation
Assist with client product installation (when needed)
Read, understand, and interpret client and manager provided installation drawings and procedures
Work with the Project Manager, technicians, and clients to ensure the preparation of all project details are complete to satisfaction
Implement ideas and execute practices to ensure safety, reliability, improved quality, reduce cost, and comply with company policies
Other duties as assigned
