About The Position

The Builder/Assembler serves as a member of a work team assembling wooden shelves, brackets, components, and faux beams. The role may also involve inspecting and packaging other accessory items. The Builder uses hand tools and measuring devices, works with wood and related materials, and helps meet production demands while following safety requirements, company policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform the essential functions, including the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
• Basic math, interpersonal, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
• Able to stand, handle or feel, and squeeze or grasp for 100% of the work period; reach with hands and arms and use depth perception for 80%; walk, perform repetitive motion, and operate moving equipment for 50%; and work bent at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and bend or twist for 10%.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds without assistance and 75–100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience driving industrial powered equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wooden shelves, brackets, components, and faux beams as part of a work team.
• Perform inspection and packaging work for other accessory items as needed.
• Operate hand tools safely and efficiently, including drills, saws, nail guns, hot glue guns, knives, clamps, and sanders.
• Work with wood, wood filler, glue, sandpaper, and wood dust.
• Work cooperatively with others in a close-quartered area and promote team relations.
• Maintain the work pace required to meet production demands.
• Use measuring devices and perform simple mathematical calculations as needed.
• Complete additional projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Comply with company policies and procedures and use proper PPE and company-approved tools while maintaining a safe work environment.
