About The Position

The primary function of this position is to rebuild transfer cases. This role involves evaluating cores, identifying critical components, and ensuring all inventoried components are accurately documented. The technician will follow build sheets and standard work instructions to complete rebuild jobs, ensuring the finished unit meets quality and cosmetic standards. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and safe workspace, reporting machinery breakdowns, and collaborating with the Pre-Assembly Department for quality and efficiency. The role may involve other tasks as directed.

Requirements

  • Basic automotive or mechanical skills
  • Familiarity and/or use of power tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to cross-train in other areas of the shop

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild transfer cases.
  • Receive direction from team lead on work priority.
  • Evaluate the core to determine appropriate critical components or any components that do not match the quality standard.
  • Add all components selected for replacement to the Assembly Order (AO) document.
  • Ensure all inventoried components are listed on the AO document.
  • Follow build sheets or standard work instructions to complete all rebuild jobs.
  • Ensure the finished unit is in good working order and cosmetically pleasing.
  • Clean out scrap bin and empty trash at work station as needed.
  • Inform maintenance when machinery breakdown occurs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Conduct responsibilities in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Pre-Assembly Department to ensure quality and efficient builds.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
