Applied IntuitionSunnyvale, CA
$90,000 - $115,000Onsite

About The Position

Applied Intuition is seeking a Build & Release Engineer to join their Release Management team. This role is responsible for the infrastructure and processes involved in releasing validated software, including release cuts, version updates, build pipelines, and artifact management. The engineer will own release cuts from Git repositories, manage version uprevs, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and administer build artifact management. A key responsibility will be owning and developing the internal Release Management portal, which tracks, manages, and releases build artifacts and binaries. This is a hands-on software engineering position requiring strong coding proficiency and CI/CD expertise to actively build and maintain a live application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and graduating by December 2026.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, with strong coding ability in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Buildkite)
  • Strong Git experience, including branching, tagging, and release workflows
  • Experience with artifact management systems (e.g., JFrog Artifactory, Nexus, or equivalent)
  • Experience designing, building, or maintaining internal tools or portals
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across build, dependency, and release issues

Nice To Haves

  • Front-end development experience (e.g., React, TypeScript) for extending internal tooling UIs
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with embedded/automotive release processes (multi-ECU uprevs, ASPICE-aligned release workflows)
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, Splunk)
  • Experience with Jira, Polarion, or similar issue tracking tools

Responsibilities

  • Execute release cuts from Git repositories across multiple product lines and branches.
  • Manage version uprevs end to end, coordinating dependency and firmware bumps with upstream teams.
  • Define and own release branching, tagging, and versioning strategies.
  • Investigate and resolve complex build failures, coordinating fixes across development teams.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable software release CI/CD pipelines for build, test orchestration, and deployment.
  • Automate build infrastructure to reduce manual effort and enforce pipeline quality gates.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures to ensure high availability and reliability for development teams.
  • Own the artifact lifecycle, including versioning, signing, storage, and cross-environment promotion.
  • Maintain strict artifact provenance and traceability from commit to release.
  • Administer and optimize artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
  • Develop and maintain the internal Release Management portal — the system of record for build artifacts, binaries, and release status.
  • Ship new features for the portal as its primary engineer, including UI, backend services, and external integrations.
  • Integrate the portal with CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, and downstream release workflows.
  • Partner with the Program Validation team and TPMs on release gate criteria and final sign-off.
  • Coordinate with domain teams (Embedded, UX/HMI, OTA etc) on release timing, risks, and blockers.
  • Communicate release status and critical path risks to stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Applied Intuition is an equal opportunity employer and federal contractor or subcontractor.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants who are disabled veterans and other applicants with disabilities or medical conditions.
