About The Position

The primary responsibility for this position is to assist the painters by buffing vehicles after the painting process. This role involves preparing vehicles for customer delivery, buffing out imperfections, and ensuring procedures are followed to properly protect vehicles. The Buff Technician will also assist with painting vehicles and other projects as required, maintain clean paint booths and work areas, and comply with all safety guidelines and policies, including handling hazardous materials and enforcing safety precautions specific to the work area. The use of a personal device for multi-factor authentication is also required.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
High School Education or equivalent
Ability to identify and achieve targeted goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and warning labels
Ability to work well with a range of individuals
Ability to prioritize multiple jobs
Ability to clearly communicate with customers and coworkers alike to ensure an excellent customer experience
Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
Ability to effectively respond to inbound and outbound phone calls
Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a paint shop preferred
Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Properly prepare vehicles for customer delivery after painting
Buff out any imperfections after painting
Alert the paint team to necessary touch-ups or repaint needed
Ensure that procedures are followed to properly protect vehicles
Assist with painting vehicles and any additional projects as required by the painter
Clean paint booths
Maintain good housekeeping of work area
Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication.
Comply with safety guidelines and policies including handling of hazardous materials and good housekeeping
Enforce safety precautions specific to work area
Other responsibilities as assigned
