Work Schedule and Location: On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM at The PBGC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • At least 1 year of payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, preferably QuickTime and FPPS
  • Understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and agency policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Federal Employee terminology, payroll processes, and retirement systems
  • Proficiency in ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll

Responsibilities

  • Administer the payroll system: grant access, designate roles, reset passwords, train and support users
  • Process bi-weekly time and attendance: review timesheets, clarify items, forward error reports, release timesheets for processing
  • Adjust timecards: review manual changes, verify calculations, forward for processing
  • Handle payroll deductions: record, track, verify documents, and make changes upon request
  • Update payroll records: maintain records securely for new, transferred, or terminated employees
  • Administer transit subsidy program: update info, assist with fund allocation
  • Process subsidized parking program: track payments, reconcile employees, submit totals to accounting
  • Provide customer service: respond to inquiries, resolve issues, escalate complex problems
  • Audit records: correct as needed based on audits and investigations
  • Develop reports: create special reports as requested by the Contracting Officer's Representative
  • Update standard operating procedures: assist with creating and updating procedures and policies related to payroll
