About The Position

The Budget Specialist I, under supervision, performs routine budget preparation and analysis work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods Assists in the monitoring, processing and tracking requests Assists in reviewing, evaluating, and preparing requests for funds Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget Conducts training May serve as a liaison with financial, payroll, and/or human resources. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and decision-making skills
  • Accurate keyboarding ability
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to occasionally work beyond normal office hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS)
  • Workday experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
