About The Position

The Budget Analyst III assists in preparation, analysis, and monitoring of departmental and organizational budgets. This role supports the client's staffing and training programs to ensure compliance with the client's policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred, together with five years (5) of relevant experience or two (2) years with a master’s degree.
  • Two (2) years as a Budget Analyst II or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of office policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting skills is helpful.
  • Completion of appropriations law course training.
  • Secret Clearnce is required.
  • Due to the nature of work at the client’s site, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interface with client personnel and other government agencies at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint). Solid Excel experience is a must

  • Department of State experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert financial guidance and advice to customers on a range of fiscal matters.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of organizational budgets to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations of financial data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Examines and interprets financial information for the purpose of forecasting future revenues and expenditures.
  • Collects, compiles, and integrates data required for the preparation of detailed financial reports.
  • Calculates, verifies, and reconciles financial figures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborates with managerial and supervisory personnel to discuss financial issues and deliver informed recommendations.
  • Assists in the formulation, development, and revision of budgets in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors and tracks the execution of the operational budget to ensure adherence to approved spending plans.
  • Reviews, processes, and facilitates payment of invoices in accordance with established financial procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
